The six types
The six Inkling types
Intuition is noticing something before you can explain it. Everyone has it; what differs is the channel it arrives through. You use all six, but one speaks loudest. That's your type, and the runner-up is your streak.
The Tidewatcher
You read people the way sailors read water. Moods, undercurrents, the thing nobody is saying: you feel it before you see it.
- Strength
- Sensing what a room, or a person, needs before they ask.
- Blind spot
- Mistaking other people's feelings for your own.
The Ember
Your intuition lives in your body. A tight chest, a lightness in your step: your body votes before your mind does.
- Strength
- Fast, physical yes-or-no answers you can feel.
- Blind spot
- Anxiety and intuition can feel identical. Learning which is which is your work.
The Lantern
Answers arrive whole, with no working shown. You just know, and you're usually right.
- Strength
- Clarity under pressure, when everyone else is still debating.
- Blind spot
- You can't always explain yourself, so others overrule you.
The Dreamweaver
You think in images. Dreams, flashes, little scenes that play out before they happen.
- Strength
- Seeing possibilities long before they're obvious.
- Blind spot
- Images fade fast. Write them down or lose them.
The Echo
Your intuition speaks in words. A sentence surfaces, like “not this one” or “call her,” and it won't let go.
- Strength
- Precise inner guidance you can actually put into words.
- Blind spot
- Your inner critic borrows the same voice. Not every sentence is intuition.
The Compass
Your intuition is pattern recognition running faster than thought. You notice what's out of place before you can name it.
- Strength
- Reading a whole situation from tiny clues.
- Blind spot
- You call it logic, so you never trust it as the gift it is.
